Post-Storm Progress

Well, we weathered last week's earthquake and this weekend's hurricane pretty well. Of course our thoughts and prayers go out to those closer to the coast who didn't fare so well. To the families of those who lost loved ones to Hurricane Irene we pray for peace and healing.

The work crews were at church early this morning to get startetd on the trusses and side wall brick work. What a beautiful day they had to work! And work they did - wow - so much accomplished!

Take a look at a few pics from today's progress...

First truss over the bonus room (above the bathrooms)!

View of the big crane from the front...
...nice masonry work by Patton's Masonry from Edinburg!

Truss work from the back..the day is just beginning!

The alley had to be closed for a while to allow the crane to do its work.

The guys working on flashing...
notice the brick work ~ looking good!

At the end of the day, it's really looking like a roof line!
And what do you know?! When I got back to the office this afternoon after doing some visiting, there was Ken Hunter up on a ladder painting the education wing entrance! Isn't it wonderful that people are inspired to contribute their time and energy to make sure our whole facility looks as good as the new building? Thanks Ken for sharing your skill and enthusiasm! (He was whistling the whole time he worked!)

Anybody want to do a little painting on the INSIDE of the ed building?  :)
